NOVAROCK 2011 - Pannonia Fields II, Nickelsdorf, Austria (Red Stage)

As Samuel said, the arrival was not very famous. I am not going further to burden you so I go straight to the bands on a red stage. 

SATRDAY

Turisas

The band from Finland was again demonstrated in full parade which was lacking in substantial face painting, which fortunately scare no fans, clothing by real northern barbarians. Since the second song started to literally burn the ground. Dust rose up to the stage roof accompanied by a completed crowd psychosis. It is worth noting amazingly struck violin solos. The only one bad thing was not very good sound of accordion, which was heard only from one side of the stage. The entire performance ended with the song "Battle Metal" as it gave the fans what they deserved applause.

First Blood

Each band has to have his image, but in this case, the metal-core group from U.S. brave overshot. Style ala straight peaks facing upwards, clothing theme from the U.S. Army, a total of singing was very forcibly, it was seen that the singer is not in his skin which was covered by many epithets, which prefer not going to comment on. Had completely missed singing it would be at least more listenable. Although a small number of fans made ??the "mosh pit" but nothing's changed in that case it was very unattractive

Pain

I admit that initially I had some doubts, because the first song reminded me the start of military fighters such as tones. Finally, it was better and hear the some tones. The band was great to play but it did not help that before stage move more people than 3 lines.We can say that people enjoyed every second song and it the whole started song "Dirty Woman", the most appreciated gentler sex. Light point performance was the perfect played song called "Great Britain".

Eisbrecher

When I saw on the stage "artists" dressed in winter jacket in nearly 30 ° C heat I treated for dehydration and wanted to go and buy something to drink. Unfortunately it did not seem to me, and I began to sweat even for them. It was seen that this band is the darling of the audience before the first song. Singer has been active, running around, interacted with the audience and it worked like a great show. The whole concert singer looks like as elegant mass murderer. At the end of the singer came to the audience, giving a microphone and those people start singing instead of him.

Sick Of It All

What to say? Crazy fun from the first moment! Especially enjoyed the concert guitarist who ever argued on stage stunts. The overall impression was deteriorated to much noise of lead guitars and a strong singer screaming who would not need the first 4 songs apparatus. Overall, it could at least jump and the band finished set list about 10 minutes last song produced by a dead wall of this madness lasted until the end of the song.

Hammerfall

ageless rockers in jeans and leather jackets artful. These gentlemens obviously did not have anyone warm up so from the onset to the end of my experience was very strong. They played songs like Bloodbound, Renegade, Hammerfall Last Man Standing and the fans appreciated what they literally standing ovation. There was a mistake when Joakim asked “who sees them first”, the fan  hands raised to the sky with the scream "Jééé". When you asked them “who they've seen more than once”, got up the same hand with the same cry J The whole thing was played pure and just nearly as album version so that experience was very good.

In Extremo

The onset of the stage was magnificent, and the first song not long in coming to himself, accompanied by fireworks of course. Playing the bagpipes and their solos were strong experience with the confident singing and demeanor the band. Then came the release in the form of songs Vollmond which is perfect for calming the crowd. The only problem I see only drums noise on my side I have a matter of fact almost heard. Made a big impression on me, so soon as the band before them.

The Darkness

I had thought that nothing else would surprise me on the first day of festival but the opposite was true. In a bad way, unfortunately. It all started with an enormous light show that blinded everyone in its way including the musicians. The musicians were something else entirely, the light show was at least bearable. The look and the show of their singer reminded of the combination of an untamed shaman invoking the rain and the gay bar guest with a face of Salvador Dali. There is a lot I could write about the singing but I will just say that the pitch was as high as Christina Aguilera. I was a bit worried about the stage burning down when the rockets bounced off the metal construction back toward the fans. This band has only two positives, the guitarist with the look of Jimmy Hendrix and that my misery lasted only one and a half hours.

The Sisters Of Mercy

I confess that this band I never heard even if they are on the scene for quite some time. Great entry, great selected set list and mood that spread from the band toward the audience was so strong and dense that it could be cut. For this band I do not anything wrong, even noise was amazing. Definitely the best choice of headliner on the first day.

SUNDAY

Kellermensch

Top bands I hardly aware of it, each with a few individuals was absolutely quiet, so I'm no resemblance to the festival atmosphere. The plus is a pure singer's voice, instruments such as bass, piano and violin, which complement the nice atmosphere. Best was holding the bass, which was just below the musician shoulder and unusually high. the best part was when the singer suddenly found himself on his knees and the words "fine place to pray for a miracle" raised his hands to the sky. Generally it my advice than the average.

Bloody Red Shoes

As the second two members started that band on stage with great enthusiasm. Fortunately, what was also quite a good listen. If so will play on and the raised profile it would have been better headline than some unnamed bands. Finally it ended with the drummer, who jumped on the drums and how to life beat the cymbals.

Jennifer Rostock

Just the beginning was relaxation because the audience began encouraged band even before come on stage. Once the first song showed all how to do it and no budge. Therefore allowed. In the song "Anders irgendwie" the singer called the guy with the audience, he sat in a chair and danced with singing around him, stroking it and sit on him. This was followed by another faster song and after then called the girl to stage. She asked whether knows the text and after answer "Ja" she give her a microphone and went away. The girl could not shame and song she sang with the support of Jennifer. Great show, great fun.

Katzenjammer

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Pure girl group where they were dressed as the singer to travel frequently. One such cancan, the other as hippies etc. Appear in it as xilofón instruments, harmonica, accordion and extra-large bass. Each artist on another song to play another instrument, which itself is very impressive. Most people liked about the song, which was incorporated in the text of the phrase "this is the world we live in." I think it sings Alcazar. The audience and I have with them hardly parted.

Broilers

Doing report on this band is very interesting. It's a mix of Oi-punk and Ragae. You can see that their home is well known by almost everyone as they sang lyrics with the band. Unfortunately not avoid the technical errors and the singer has to understand every third word. Since this genre is foreign to me, I need to do a summary at least according to what I saw. Fans in the euphoria, the band and I also battered because the fans decided pogo dance by me.

Duff Mckagan Loaded

The only band that has ever taken a second day! I stood further by podium but the sound that went by speakers was awful. 0 points for singing, frequency of singer voice was too high. Anyway, the sound engineer is only one people and technique has its day, the band cope with it as professionals at what they deserve my admiration.

Sublime With Rome

At first I thought this is another band that with peaks which erred festival. Fortunately this was not and fans got set ragae songs in the style of Bob Marlay. I really did not like it bass player closes concert smoke probably pack of cigarettes (I am non-smoker) and together was hardly move. But I was very surprised by the well-being, in which beckoned crowds

3 Doors Down

For this band I enjoyed most of the second day. Disappoint. Tremendously great sound and the band which has literally enjoyed a concert by leaving little trace of anyone who knows her. Once the third song was slow and 90% of people have a powerful emotional experience in the form of drops of tears. Followed by a series of ballads like When You're Young, Here Without You, or Let me be myself which was even wept a guitarist! The song Kryptonite, then a few melodious songs and the famous end of the concert.

Flogging Molly

Who could imagine redhead irish man with acoustic guitar and smile on his face? Of course, all of which at least somewhat familiar with this band! Already beginning was hilarious and on connection of the Irish rock music was something really magical. People jumped, ran, and they rejoiced and drank of course, silly. I definitely enjoyed it thoroughly. Even though I still had a smile on my face and I did not want to end. Unfortunately they had to farewell song to me and jumped the second day of the festival.

MONDAY

Boysetsfire

The first band of the last day demonstrating the song "Empire", in which I have heard that the singer is likely to have problems with vocal cords. Sang cloudy but did not know anything on himself. The band decided on a setlist of alternating fast and slow songs which guarantee the little bit stereotype but still quite interesting and very nicely mastered concert. 

The Sounds

At the start of the show I told myself that it would be fine because the female singer came wearing shorts and loose top...Unfortunatelly, the fate has a very strange sense of humour and once again it was not what I had expected. The singer could have thrown the microphone away and sing without it, we would have heard it better without it. What got me the most was that I almost did not hear the guitar all concert, possibly because after 3 days of noise my ears made a decision: "Enough". I heard her only when the keyboard did not play and even then I heard her only partially. Approximatelly in the middle of the concert they played a slower song and if I closed my eyes then, I could have sworn that it was 12 years old girl singing it. She spent time between songs using vulgar language and addressing the fans with it, who naturally loved her for it. They also could have done without the keyboard techno sound and highlight the guitar instead.

Alter Bridge

The first thing that drew my attention and which I therefore did not understand at all were attached plexiglass front to drummer as nothing flown in this direction. The sound was strong, clear and interesting. Audience revived the song Blackbird and they finally began to talk as one. I applaud even guitar solos and of course "guitar battle" when the singer and guitarist tried to get to his side the widest possible audience. In this battle resounded completely 8 guitar solos and it was very well drained work

Pendulum

This concert I have yet experienced. The band played 20 seconds and I have seen on stage, which was 50 meters in front of me! The only thing I saw was the outline stage and spot lights. The reason for this was about 7 mosh pits before podium a crowd of dancing people. The whole area is virtually impossible to go in and make to move are rather not talking. Super atmosphere, the concert even more. Musicians confirmed that in its genre are the absolute top.

Social Distortion

People after Pendulum the concert were very tired, or the infirmary, so dancing was very limited effect. When I saw the singer reminds me rather unshaven Justin Timberlake, I again thought of escape. After the bands before it completely calm and relaxed music more suitable for listening, but I would not put it between the band the Pendulum and System of a Down. Not bad, but say the truth, even the best.

System Of A Down

The SOAD was not much to write or at least not without superlatives. I saw them first and made a huge impression on me, a big light show, singer creations. Songs like Toxicity, Chop Sue, Sugar and BYOB move already unstoppable frenzy in the audience. The SOAD was not really write anything other than the best concert of day, best concert on the red stage and the best atmosphere. Easily the best!
