Seven Thorns power metal z Dánska přijedou zahrát na festival South of Heaven, Zbytiny centrální Šumava. Svou tvorbu staví hlavně na virtuozitě kytar. Máme se nač těšit. Ozvěna v lomu vše umocní.
Alan – Ahoj bando. Kdy jste se dozvěděli o tomto festivale?
Lars – Naše booking agentura nám před pár měsíci řekla o možnosti si zahrát na SoH. Vzhledem k tomu, že jsme několikrát hráli v České republice a víme, že metalové publikum je oddané hudbě, neváhali jsme říci ano přijít si zahrát.
Alan – Když jste se dozvěděli o festivalu, podívali jste se na předchozí ročníky?
Lars – Právě se dozvídáme o SoH – a vypadá to skvěle. Už se moc těšíme, až pro vás budeme hrát.
Alan – Tuto otázku pokládám pokaždé, u každého ročníku, tak ji položím i vám. Už jste hráli někdy v lomu? Co na to říkáte?
Lars – South of Heaven, to je poprvé lom pro nás.
Alan – Odehráli jste nějaké velmi zajímavé vystoupení. Například vlak, letadlo, loď, ponorka…..?
Lars – V roce 2015 jsme hráli na venkovním festivalu na Srí Lance. Kromě vlhkosti a tropických teplot to bylo cool, právě když se večer začalo stmívat a stovky cikád se probudily z okolních stromů a přiletěly nad festival. A opice přeběhla přes pódium během zvukové zkoušky…
Alan – Od začátku roku 2024, takže co u vás nového, zajímavého? Album, změna v sestavě atd ….?
Lars – Hodně se toho děje. Nová sestava, nové album, festivaly po celé Evropě, turné po Dánsku koncem tohoto roku a doufejme, že nové evropské turné.
Alan – Na South of Heaven přivezete co? Myšleno v repertoáru? A nebo i pokud s sebou povezete nějaké překvapení, ven s tím.
Lars – Přijedeme v nové sestavě. Můžeme také zahrát píseň z nového alba, i když ještě nevyšlo. Zahrajeme 1 nebo 2 písně, které jsme naživo nehráli mnoho let.
Alan – Co děláte když nehrajete?
Lars – Všichni jsme zaměstnáni. Hraní metalu je něco, čím se uživí jen málokdo. Trávíme spoustu času vyřizováním záležitostí okolo kapely a tvoříme nové skladby, když nepracujeme.
Alan – Váš kout, vaše domovina – jak se vám tam hraje? A nějakou perličku můžete říci/napsat?
Lars – Dá se říci, že power metalová scéna v Dánsku je extrémně malá. Existuje možná 5 kapel, které mají nějakou mezinárodní reputaci. Dánská metalová scéna je mnohem více Death and Black.
Alan – Bylo by něco, co na sebe prásknete, a nikde jinde jste to ještě neřekli, nebo nenapsali?
Lars – Pokud to musí být pravda, pak si myslím, že jsme už všechno řekli v jiných rozhovorech. Ale můžeme si vymýšlet příběhy – s největší pravděpodobností budou zajímavější než realita… Jsme z Dánska a USA. Ještě jedna věc, na kterou se těšíme, je pití českého piva. Mnohem lepší než Carlsberg a Budweiser (americká verze)…
Co jiného… Noahu, náš hlavní zpěvák je z Dallasu, Texas.
Alan – Na co (nač), nebo na koho se na festivale South of Heaven nejvíce těšíte?
Lars – Milujeme hraní na nových místech – navštěvujeme místa, kde jsme ještě nehráli, potkáváme nové přátele a fanoušky (a také staré). Tak na to se asi těšíme nejvíce.
Alan – Díky za rozhovor pro nás a pro návštěvníky festivalu South of Heaven. Uvidíme se na pódiu. Se mnou určitě, já jsem ten co to vše uvádí a v čas vás z pódia vyžene kvůli prostoru pro další kapelu.
Lars – Těšíme se na vás všechny a dáme si s vámi pivo.

Alan – Hi gang. When did you hear about this festival?
Lars, Seven Thorns: Our booking agency told us about SoH a few months ago and that you were looking for bands. Having played in The Czech Rep. several times before and knowing that the audience here is dedicated and fantastic to play for we did not hesitate to say yes to come and play ☺
Alan – When you heard about the festival, did you look at the previous ones? Or are you learning about South of Heaven just now?
Lars, Seven Thorns: We are leraning about SoH just now – and it looks great. We are looking so much forward to playing for you.
Alan – I ask this question every time, with every year, so I will ask it again. Have you ever played in a quarry? What do you think about it?
Lars, Seven Thorns: No never. This will be a new scenario for us. We trust it will be an amazing experience.
Alan – Tell us about some interesting places where you have already played a concert or a festival. For example, a train, a plane, a ship, a jet…..?
Lars, Seven Thorns: In 2015 we played an outdoor festival in Sri Lanka. Beside the humidity and tropical temperatures it was so cool playing just when it started to be dark in the evening and hundreds of Flying Dogs woke up from the surrounding trees and flew in over the festival. And a monkey ran over the stage during sound check…
Alan – More than 6 months have passed since the beginning of 2024, so what’s new, and interesting for you? Album, line-up change, etc…?
Lars, Seven Thorns: Well a lot is going on. New line-up, new album, festivals across Europe, Denmark tour later this year and hopefully a new European tour.
Alan – What will you bring to South of Heaven? Thought as in the repertoire? Or even if you bring a surprise, can you hint about it?
Lars, Seven Thorns: We will bring the new line-up. We might also play a song from the new album, even if it hasn’t been released yet. We will play 1 or 2 songs we haven’t played live in many many years.
Alan – What do you do when you’re not playing?
Lars, Seven Thorns: We all have day jobs. Playing metal is only something that very few people can make a living from. But we spend a lot of time handling band matters and making new music when we are not working.
Alan – Your corner, your homeland – how are you doing there? And can you say/write something interesting about your homeland?
Lars, Seven Thorns: We are from Denmark and USA. One more thing we are looking forward to is drinking Czech beer. So much better than Carlsberg and Budweiser (the American version)…
We can say that the power metal scene in Denmark is extremely small. There are maybe 5 bands that have some sort of international reputation. The Danish metal scene is much more Death and Black.
What else… well Noah, our lead vocalist is from Dallas, Texas.
Alan – Is there anything you’re going to tell about yourself that you haven’t said or written anywhere else?
Lars, Seven Thorns: If it has to be true then I think we have said everything in other interviews already. But we can make up stories – they will most likely also be more interesting than reality…
Alan – What or who are you most looking forward to at South of Heaven?
Lars, Seven Thorns: We love playing at new venues – visit places we haven’t played before, meeting new friends and fans (and old ones as well).
