V našom najnovšom rozhovore by sme vám radi predstavili zaujímavý projekt s názvom Full Nothing. Ide o argentínsku alebo radšej medzinárodnú temnú rockovú a alternatívnu metalovú kapelu, ktorá vznikla v roku 2012 a jej zakladateľmi sú Nicolás Marcos, Guillermo De Medio a Augusto Amicon. Ich hudba kombinuje temné, melodické a symfonické prvky s agresívnymi riffmi, orchestrálnymi aranžmá a elektronickými zvukmi. Kapela spolupracuje s medzinárodnými hudobníkmi, medzi ktorých patria gitarista Cristian Vidal, basgitarista Charlie Giardina, bubeník Fernando Scarcella, či viacerí známi vokalisti. Kapela nahrávala dokonca s Bratislavským symfonickým orchestrom. Ich inovatívny štýl posúva hranice hudby spojením silných, harmonických a atmosférických zvukov.
Ahojte FULL NOTHING! Ako sa máte? Je mi cťou predstaviť vašu kapelu slovenskému publiku!
Vďaka! Vieme, že na Slovensku je veľké nadšené publikum pre rock a metal.
Táto kapela je ako projekt hviezdneho obsadenia. Vidím úžasné mená, Fernando Scarcella, Guillermo de Medio, Christian Vidal, a môžem pokračovať. Ako ste sa spojili a dali dokopy?
Nicolas Marcos skladal piesne a spojil všetkých hudobníkov, ktorí sú do projektu zapojení, pričom hľadal v každom z nich kvalitu a hudobný vkus, ktorý je vždy základnou súčasťou Full Nothing.
Veľmi sa mi páči váš zvuk, avšak vôbec neznie juhoamericky. Súhlasili by ste?
Všetci hudobníci a technici, ktorí sa na projekte podieľajú, majú medzinárodné skúsenosti s nahrávaním a živými vystúpeniami, čo nám do veľkej miery pomohlo vytvoriť identitu s medzinárodnou úrovňou zvuku, o ktorú sa vždy usilujeme.
Máte nové CD s názvom The Perfect Animal. Kto je „dokonalé zviera“ na vašom albume?
My, ľudia, v súlade s vesmírom, všetky koncepty Full Nothing majú súvis s kontrastmi a rovnováhou, opozíciami, ktoré sa priťahujú, všetko dobré a zlé, čo nás reprezentuje a robí unikátnymi.
Na nahrávke je veľa hostí! Bolo ťažké sa zosúladiť? Myslím, že čas bol najväčším nepriateľom!
Áno, proces tvorby každého albumu je trochu dlhý, ale súvisí to s kvalitou a kombináciou kreativity. The Perfect Animal je náš štvrtý album (nepočítam singles, EP, akustické verzie a pod.). Na takýto spôsob práce sme si už zvykli a funguje nám to. Videoklipy a živé vystúpenia sú trochu komplikovanejšie, ale na tom už tiež pracujeme.
Ako pristupujete k skladaniu a spolupráci na projekte, ktorý kombinuje rôzne hudobné pozadie a kultúry, najmä s hosťujúcimi umelcami ako Tom Englund a ďalší?
Tom je skvelý! S niekým tak talentovaným je veľmi ľahké pracovať. Evergrey na nás mal veľký vplyv, takže je pre nás veľká česť mať ho na albume.
Ako vyberáte hosťujúcich vokalistov a aké kvality podľa vás do svojich piesní prinášajú, čím zlepšujú celkový zážitok?
Je to niečo, čo je implicitné pri skladaní piesní. Hľadáme hudobníkov, ktorí zdieľajú naše vplyvy, a tak, pomocou hudby ako univerzálneho jazyka, to nakoniec plynulo bez problémov.
S kým by ste chceli v budúcnosti spolupracovať? Máte nejakú vysnívanú spoluprácu?
Vymenovať by som ich vedel veľa, ale momentálne je to ťažké, no určite nás ešte čakajú prekvapenia.
Vzhľadom na emocionálnu povahu vašich textov, aké osobné skúsenosti alebo témy dúfate, že si poslucháči spoja s vašou hudbou?
Texty sa zameriavajú na introspekciu a na to, ako rezonujú v každom človeku. Niekedy má abstrakcia univerzálny dosah na pocity, a inokedy je potrebné byť explicitný s tým, čo chcete vyjadriť. Preto sa často neobmedzujeme a využívame v piesňach aj hovorené časti, keď melódia obmedzuje koncept.
Harmónie na niektorých piesňach z albumu boli nahrané Bratislavským symfonickým orchestrom. Navštívili ste Slovensko aj počas nahrávania?
Áno, dvakrát sme navštívili Bratislavu, aby sme nahrali sláčiky pre naše albumy.
Prečo ste sa rozhodli spolupracovať so slovenskými hudobníkmi?
O orchestre sme sa dozvedeli od kolegu, ktorý mal túto možnosť vďaka svojmu magisterskému štúdiu v Španielsku, a nahrávky nás veľmi prekvapili kvalitou, takže sme ich kontaktovali. Objavili sme skvelé prostredie s vysokou kvalitou a hudobnou úrovňou. Bratislavský symfonický orchester a David Hernando Rico odviedli úžasnú prácu a zaobchádzali s nami veľmi dobre. Bratislava je krásne mesto. Čoskoro sa sem vrátime!
Full Nothing je medzinárodný projekt, ktorý zahŕňa mnoho rôznych žánrov a subžánrov, ako aj hudobníkov s rôznorodým hudobným zázemím. Ako vyvažujete svoje vplyvy z gotickej, progresívnej a alternatívnej metalovej hudby, pričom si zachovávate jedinečnú identitu ako kapela?
Kompozície Nicolasa sú spoločným menovateľom, a keď ich hráme, je prirodzené dosiahnuť našu identitu práve týmto spôsobom.
Ako by ste porovnali nový album s vašimi predchádzajúcimi nahrávkami?
The Perfect Animal pokračuje v štýle predchádzajúcich albumov, no hlbšie sa zaoberá kontrastmi a aranžmánmi, ktoré majú čo dočinenia s metalom, pričom vždy zachovávame melódie a taký ‘temný dotyk’.
Páči sa mi vizuálna stránka kapely. Myslím tým vaše artworky, sú pre mňa so istej miery ‘mystické’. Je za nimi nejaký špecifický príbeh alebo myšlienka?
Spolupracujeme s viacerými audiovizuálnymi tvorcami, pričom začíname s textami piesní ako základnou myšlienkou a potom sme otvorení interpretáciám, ktoré iní môžu využiť. To je pre nás to, čo je na audiovizuálnej tvorbe najzaujímavejšie.
S vydaním albumu The Perfect Animal, ako sa váš zvuk vyvíjal od začiatku kapely Full Nothing?
Bol to prirodzený vývoj, snažili sme sa stále viac zdokonaľovať prvky projektu a s výsledkom sme veľmi spokojní.
Aké nové smery by ste radi preskúmali v budúcich projektoch?
Vždy sme otvorení novým vplyvom, hoci je ťažké ich presne predpovedať, ale určite to bude to, čo podľa nás posilní význam textov a melódií.
Môžete sa podeliť o svoje myšlienky, ako atmosféra prispieva k rozprávaniu príbehu vo vašej hudbe a aké špecifické emócie sa snažíte vyvolať prostredníctvom týchto zvukových prostriedkov?
Full Nothing je obohatený svet, ktorý vzniká spojením opačných strán. Sily rôznych farieb a rozličných pocitov vyjadrených hudbou. Kde sú posvätné a profánne zároveň a stávajú sa hudbou aj poéziou. Nekonečno a prchavosť momentu spolu žijú ako protiklady v simultánnom impulze k neobmedzenej tvorbe. Ničota ožíva plnou silou.

In our newest interview, we would like to introduce an interesting project called Full Nothing. It is an Argentinean or international dark rock and alternative metal band formed in 2012 by Nicolás Marcos, Guillermo De Medio, and Augusto Amicon. Their music combines dark, melodic, and symphonic elements with aggressive riffs, orchestral arrangements, and electronic sounds. The band collaborates with international musicians, including guitarist Cristian Vidal, bassist Charlie Giardina, drummer Fernando Scarcella, various vocalists, and even the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra. Their innovative style challenges musical limits by blending powerful, harmonic, and atmospheric sounds.

This band is like an all-star project. I see amazing names, Fernando Scarcella,
Guillermo de Medio, Christian Vidal and I can continue. How have you guys joined
your forces together?
Nicolas Marcos composed the songs and brought together all the musicians involved in the project, seeking in each one the quality and musical taste that is always a fundamental part of Full Nothing.
I really like your sound, however, it doesn’t sound South American at all. Would you
agree?
All the musicians and technicians involved have international experience in recording and live performances, which largely helped us generate an identity with the international audio level that we always seek.
You have a new album out called The Perfect Animal. Who is the ´perfect animal´ on your album?
We, humans in sync with the universe, all the concepts of Full Nothing have to do with contrasts and balances, opposites that attract, everything good and bad that represents us and makes us unique.
There are a lot of guests on the recording! Was it difficult to manage the work and your schedules? Time was the biggest enemy I believe!
Yes, the process of each album is a bit long, but it has to do with quality and creativity combined. The Perfect Animal is our 4th album (not counting singles, EPs, acoustic versions, etc.) We have gotten used to working like this and it works for us, the video clips and live performances are a bit more complicated, but we are working on that.
How do you approach songwriting and collaboration in a project that blends different musical backgrounds and cultures, particularly with guest artists like Tom Englund and others?
Tom is great! It’s very easy to work with someone so talented. Evergrey has been a huge influence on us, so it’s an honor to have him collaborate with us.
How do you select guest vocalists, and what qualities do you believe they bring to your music that enhances the overall experience?
It is something that is implicit when composing the songs, we look for musicians who share influences with us, in that way and with music as a universal language it ends up fluid.
Who would you like to collaborate with in the future? Do you have any dream
collaboration?
Many, but it’s hard to say right now, but there will surely be more surprises.
Given the emotional nature of your lyrics, what personal experiences or themes do you hope listeners connect with when they listen to your music?
The lyrics appeal to introspection and how they resonate in each person, sometimes the abstract has a universal reach to feelings and other times it is necessary to be explicit with concepts, that is why we do not limit ourselves to even many times using spoken parts in the songs, when the melody limits the concept.
Strings on some songs on the album were recorded by the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra. Did you also visit Slovakia while recording?
Yes, we have visited Bratislava twice to record the strings for our albums.
Why did you decide to collaborate with Slovakian musicians?
We learned about the orchestra through a colleague who had the opportunity first thanks to his master’s degree in Spain, then we listened to the recordings and were surprised by the quality, so we decided to contact them, and we discovered an environment of great quality and musicality.The BSO and David Hernando Rico have done an incredible job and have treated us very well in every way. Bratislava is a beautiful city. We will be back!
Full Nothing is an international project including many different genres and subgenres as well as musicians with different musical backgrounds. How do you balance your influences from gothic, progressive, and alternative metal while maintaining a unique identity as a band?
Nicolas‘ compositions are the common denominator, taking that into account when playing it is natural to achieve an identity for us.
How would you compare the new album and the previous recordings of yours?
The Perfect Animal follows the line of the previous ones, but goes deeper into the contrasts and arrangements that have to do with metal core, always maintaining the melodies and the dark touch.
I like the visual side of the band. I mean your artworks, it is sort of mystical to me. Is there any particular story or idea behind it?
We work with several audiovisual creators, having the lyrics of the songs as an initial concept and then we are open to the interpretation that others can give it, that is what is interesting about audiovisual for us.
With the release of The Perfect Animal, how has your sound evolved since the inception of Full Nothing?
It was a natural evolution, trying to polish the elements of the project more and more, we are very happy with the result.
What new directions are you excited to explore in future projects?
We are always open to new influences, it is difficult to know, but it will surely be what we believe reinforces the meaning of the lyrics and melodies.
Can you share your thoughts on how atmosphere contributes to storytelling in your music, and what specific emotions you aim to evoke through these soundscapes?
Full Nothing is an enriched world through the joining of opposites sides.The power of different colours and diverse feelings expressed through the music. Where the sacred and the profane become both music and poetry. The endless and the ephemeral live together as opposites in a simultaneous impulse to unlimited creation. Nothingness comes alive with full strength.
