To Hell with God European Tour 2011

The time has finally come. Florida's legend DEICIDE has come back to Slovakia once again. The main feature of the Friday´s night was extreme art. But let me start from the beginning. 

Opening act of this evening was a magical band, THE AMENTA, from distant Australia. They started their set on scheldule at about 6 PM. This relatively young band devoted us to death metal music with an industrial flavour. Excentric vocalist, Cain Cressall, really enjoyed the performance which was very obvious and the audience appreciated that as well. Really great opening of this unique event.

After a short break, the hour of penance has come, in the literal sense. The confession was ready to start. I´m talking about the band from Italian Rome, HOUR OF PENANCE. They showed us how to play a straight technical death metal. People seemed that this was a real pleasure for them. The atmosphere started to be really intensive. 

After small but immediately solved technical problems, Košice´s club Collosseum was filled with a dark introduction and people´s scream Belphogor-Belphegor- Belphegor...Exactly! Austrian masters of death/black metal, BELPHEGOR, appeared on stage and another infernal ride has just begun. Belphegor has come to Slovakia to present to us their brand new record Blood Magick Necromance and we all really enjoyed songs like In Blood - Devour This Sanctity, Rise To Fall And Fall To Rise, Angeli Mortis De Profundis or the controversial one, Upon The Tongue Of Sathan. The classic songs like, for example, Lucifer Incestus also found its place. People appreciated that Helmuth said that he loves our Slovakian audience. They even forgot him not very correct pronunciation of the city where they were playing in, Košice. I know it could be a bit difficult. A huge applause accompanied them when they were leaving the stage and this band really deserved that. It was an amazing performance!

It didn´t take a long time and an American monster has come to stage, DEICIDE. A short adjustment of sound and the insane show has already started. Without ceremony, how only Glen Benton can do it. The band presented to us a pure death metal and the best of this genre. Songs like Serpents of the Light, Homage for Satan or Scars of the Crucifix as well as some new tracks from the newest album entitled To Hell with God only increased the quality of the performance. I have to mention also an amazing performance of whole band icluding Steva Asheim and Jack Owen. By the way, before the show they both promenaded among people, took the pictures with them. That was really nice. The absence of Ralph Santolla surprised me but I think no one else was interfered by this fact.

I need to mention a faultless organization of the gig, which was on a really high level at all points. Only photographers had to fight for the survivance of their cameras, as always. This really special night was behind us and we could do only one thing, go home.
