Life is full of exciting stories and today we would like to introduce an interesting story hidden behind this mysterious name, The Mothman Curse.

Hello The Mothman Curse. Of course, there is no other way, I have to start with a simple but important question. How are you doing guys during these pandemic times?

Hello Domi, I'm Rat and thank you very much for the interview. Fortunately we are very well. In our area there have been very few cases even if the situation is not the best. In June we were able to resume testing and restart with the projects that unfortunately we had to stop at the beginning of the year.

How do you spend your days since there are so many restrictions, no shows can be done and so on...

We all work so the days go by quite fast. One thing is certain, we really miss playing in front of an audience :)

I am really interested in the name of your band, I mean the origin of it. How did you come up with it?

We are very fond of creepypasta and urban legends. The MothMan has always been a creature that intrigued us and so we decided to make it a part of our project. We added the word "curse" instead so as not to leave the name too banal.

Do you believe in these supernatural creatures? As far as I know, the mothman is one of them.

I really don't believe it but I'd be curious to change my mind :) in the end there is no certainty that they don't exist.

Let´s start speaking about the music you play. Introduce your band and and your music to our readers, please.

Then we are 5. Me on vocals, M.J. on lead guitar, Max Koil on guitar, OniMatt on bass and ColdFace on drums. Our music is a mix of various genres and metal sub-genres of the various 20 years. To be honest I don't know how to classify our genre.

While listening to your music, to me it sounds pretty American. And you come form Italy. What do you think about it?

Yes we have a lot of nu metal influences from the 2000s. Slipknot, Korn, Lamb of God and metal a little more extreme like Devil Drivers.

You started as a cover band. Am I right? What led you to it?

We started 10 years ago writing our own songs but doing covers to be able to play around a bit until the project died. 3 years ago we met and we said let's start again making only our own music. And so we were born.

I´ve noticed some pics from a studio on your social media. What are you working on?

We are working on new material and decided to record some songs to hear the new ideas well. We still don't know whether to release some singles or wait for the new album to be finished.

What´s the origin and meaning of your masks?

We think that every person in the world wears a mask. Even if invisible. We have decided to wear them and show them to everyone. A bit like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Is it comfortable to perform wearing them?

No not at all. You sweat a lot, you hardly hear the sound. But we are used to it now.

Can we expect to see you performing in Slovakia in the future?

We would love it. We love to play and are always willing to move if called upon. Certainly we can organize ourselves very willingly.

Is there anything you would like to tell to our readers?

If you are a musician, always believe in difficulties, if you are not, always enjoy life with a little melancholy and do not let yourself be defeated by the ugly world.
