One of the few German hard rock bands whose success in USA forewent the success even in a homecountry. They have achieved what Bonfire, Steeler and many similar bands could only dream about and they enviously observed how they sold out big concert halls. Old good times! But a bit later, the band started to disappear from the scene but the creator of the band has never even thought to split up the band. Rendered Waters is name of their brand new album and my questions headed for vocalist Lenny Wolf.

You´ve been on scene for about 25 years. How do you remember the beginnings of the band?

Once, there has been a young German, who wanted to play guitar and sing. He was working very hard with faith and passion and one day, he was very happy when he was invited to America. (Check out BIO www.lennywolf.com). He didn´t speak English very well, which was good because all the girls had to use their “maternal instinct“ and took care of him. The life was excited, new and fantastic!

I have met with Bruce Gowdon, through my manager Martin Wolff. Bruce was my partner in my first American band Stone Fury. Well-paid educational experience, but it wasn´t very successful. Then I was hiding in my apartment and wrote songs again. I met some people from L.A. and they had agencies and they helped me to find other members. Through these people I found the guys I´ve created Kingdom Come with. I remember it all very good. From my adolescence to nowadays. I remember being very enthusiastic when I heard Beatles for the first time. I remember being enthusiastic when I got my first guitar and also when my first girlfriend started to cry when I was singing for her and when I got my first airticket to America as well as I got my first contract with a label and also when I heard my song in a radio. I still can go on but it would take so much time.

Right now, I´m happy because I can do whatever I want. And tomorrow, I´ll be also happy because I know what it means to be thankful!

What was your musical idols?

Beatles, especially John Lennon, AC / DC, especially Bon Scott, Status Quo and later I found Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Hendrix, Depeche Mode, etc.....etc..... and many more ..., I can´t remember all those names right now.

The band came through many personal changes. In what you can see the causes?

The differences are in how we could work creatively. Timing was bad concerningn the other projects. Some of them demands too much money. Some people think that I´m an asshole either becuase I live so far away or the other reasons that I really didn´t need to know. But unfortunately, I have never met the magical partner for writing lyrics like Lennon/ Mc Cartney, Page / Plant, Roger Waters / David Gilmore, etc...etc .... And that´s why I finished carrying all the weight on my shoulders. Who knows. Perhaps there´s something special in front of me :-) Utill then, I´ll do another “travelling in the dusk“.

Your musical boom started in 1988 and your popularity grew with every other album. Do you think it was a right time, with right music and on the right place or before the release you even didn´t think that it could be successful?

We all deserved our “luck“. There´s no guarantee that it will work. That´s  the reason why DESIRE should be the key of motivation.! I´ve been in Germany for many years and my friends went aside. I think that “the big man above“ gave me a break :-)

Your new album reminds something from your past. Was it your intention?

A funny question, my friend! I recorded again my 8 songs from my early days in States. It speaks for otself.

In a few days, the great album Rendered Waters will be out. The author of majority of lyrics is you. What does could influence you when you´re composing?

LIFE. It ´s a “ drive“ about everybody on this planet :-)....experiences, emotions, view in front of us.

For sure, you´re gonna play some live gigs. Could you reveal where and who´s gonna be your support?

Our tour manager has just started to look for the things. I hope we´ll play somewhere close to your city. But nothing´s sure yet.

Are preparing also some summer shows?

Perhaps, but I´m not a big fan of festivals. I prefer playing in the venue where´s dark. Kingdom Come is not a band for party in the day. But this band could still do couple of concerts, if there´s a meaning.

Thank you very much for this interview. Is there anything you would like to tell to your fans and our readers?

If you like our new CD, tell your friends about it. If not, shut up! No, I´m just kidding :-) It´s worth to live because I´m spiritually connected with so many people through my music. Peace and love, that´s what wish all of you!

 Hallelujah. Lenny
