The
whole story has begun in 2003 when a group of guys put together to create
something new. Later on, they started with rehearsals, own production as well
as with first gigs. I´m talking about a Slovak band Eye Beyond Sight and
we´re bringing up to you this interesting interview with them.

In the beginning of your
existence you had to go through several personnel changes. How have you kept
the appetite to continue? Several times, you had to basically „start again“.
Doki: The personal changes
have occured about 2 years after the band was established. Then the
bassplayer Kepas and drummer Bálint have been replaced. Actually, only they
two needed to learn the songs. It was at one time, we didn´t have to do the
things separately.
Is your current line-up
already constant?
Doki: The line-up has been
constant actually for 5 years. Macsek, the guitarist, missed out one year but
Maťo from Apokryf has replaced him during that period.
How would you describe the
music of Eye Beyond Sight?
Kepas: We classify it as
metal.
Did you have any musical
“idols“? What or who has influenced you to create and start to play music?
Kepas: We all have been
growing up with metal music. And if you really love it you need to do it as
well. We were influenced by bands like Slayer, Sepultura, AC/DC, Iron Maiden,
Machine Head, but of course many others.
Why have you decided to write
lyrics in English?
Kepas: We want to present our
music also outside Slovakia.
| |
How the name of your band was
born? Who invented it or who came up with that?
Doki: Tomi and Macsek invented it.
What do you think was the
biggest difference between the process of composing of your first album “Dies
ad Quem“ and the new one “The Sun and the Flood“?
Kepas: The main difference was
concerning the line-up. Bálint, the drummer, wasn´t there when we have been
working on “Dies ad Quem“.
You had relatively long break
between these two albums. It was something like 4 years. Could you present
your brand new record to us? I mean the title, songs, artwork etc...
Bálint: New album "The
Sun and the Flood" is a result of our current line-up. The album
carries a certain message to this society. The lyrics descibe
a status and situation that occurs nowadays. I mean political
manipulation as well as manipulation in media. But on the other hand, the
lyrics are also about the emotions. Macsek designed the artwork and the
person you can see there is our second guitarist Doki.
The first song is called Sick
Society. Do you think we are really living in a sock society?
Bálint: Yes, I do.
Some time ago, you performed
on a big festival in Hungary. Of course, I mean Metalfest. How was
it? Did you like that?
Bálint: That was an amazing
experience for us. We were able to perform on the same stage as Kreator,
Kataklysm, Rage and Equilibrium.
Was it the biggest opportunity
for you so far?
Bálint: Of course, one of the
biggest. But the gig with Sepultura in Šaľa in 2009 was also a big
honour for us.
| |
What are your plans for the
future?
Doki: We want to develop our
music and enrich metal scene.
Would you like to tell
something to your fans or our readers?
EBS: Read Hellmagazine, listen
to our music, come and see the gigs and STAY METAL!!!!!
Thank you very much and we
wish you all the best for your future carreee!
