Festival South of Heaven Zbytiny IV ročník, který se odehraje v letošním roce 2025, opět přinese různé speciality pro návštěvníky, a obměnu kapel. South of Heaven festivalem velmi přátelským na naprosto suprovém místě, kdy pořadatelé VÁM každý rok přinášíme jinou porci skupin. Nejsme zaměřeni na stálé opakování jedněch a těch samých kapel z Čech i ze světa. Co nám k tomu řekli samy skupiny, si můžete přečíst v přidaných rozhovorech.
Alan – Ahoj. Jak jste se dozvěděli o našem festivale?
Dani MVN – Ahoj! No, je to festival, o kterém jsme už věděli díky sociálním sítím. Je mi ctí a potěšením být součástí tohoto festivalu.
Alan – Festival South of Heaven se odehrává v lomu s naprosto fantastickou akustikou. Těšíte se?
Dani MVN – Bude to naprostá pecka. Počítáme dny, než přijde ta chvíle!
Alan – Když už jsme v lomu, hráli jste na nějakém zajímavém místě? A jaký z toho jste měli dojmy?
Dani MVN – Posledních pár let bylo pro kapelu úžasných, hráli jsme na festivalech středního až opravdu velkého formátu, sdíleli podia s legendárními kapelami (Rock Imperium, Z! Live, Vagos Open Air…).
A o South of Heaven, no, odehrává se na docela působivém místě. Do České republiky pojedeme poprvé, takže jsme z toho opravdu nadšení!
Alan – Co zajímavého na festival přivezete, krom dobré nálady a vaší hudby? Nová deska, pyrotechnika …..?
Dani MVN – Jsme přímo uprostřed našeho turné k novému albu Endles Scorn, takže se připravte na úžasný zážitek! Živá vystoupení jsou pro nás hlavním klíčem, nejdůležitějším aspektem kapely. Jen se zahřejte a buďte připraveni na mosh jak čert.
Alan – Na festival South of Heaven jedete jen na otočku, nebo je součástí letního tour?
Dani MVN – Toto léto máme opravdu napilno, na South of Heaven je pro nás výlet mimo naši trasu. Bude to jako závan čerstvého vzduchu – fantastický zážitek.
Alan – Sledujete náš festival delší dobu? Pokud ano, jak dlouho, a co vás na něm nejvíce zaujalo?
Dani MVN – Ano, o festivalu jsme věděli už nějakou dobu. Milujeme festivaly středního formátu v Evropě a South of Heaven se navíc koná na krásném místě. Tak jak vás něco takového nemůže zajímat!
Alan – Pojďme do vaší kotliny – domoviny. Jak se vám tam hraje? Jaké máte zázemí ohledně fans?
Dani MVN – Jak jsem již řekl, teď jsme na turné a věci jdou docela dobře. Mnoho festivalů, mnoho měst, tisíce kilometrů… brutální. Dav a tisk přijali naše nové album ohromně pozitivně, takže nemůžeme být šťastnější.
Alan – Obecná otázka, jak vnímáte festivaly, jaká je možnost a podmínky za jakých se na ně lze dostat a zahrát s kapelou? Máte nějakou pikantní zkušenost s podmínkami či přístupem pořadatele festivalu?
Dani MVN – Opravdu se to liší. Podle mých zkušeností je někdy nejlepší vybudovat si kariéru, hodně hrát, vydat se na cestu a udělat si jméno. Pak, když budete dost tvrdě pracovat a dostanete se do bodu, kdy vás lidé budou mít rádi a budou vás sledovat, festivaly se s vámi spojí.
A jo, mnoho, no… zajímavých zkušeností, hahaha. Ale je to všechno o tom mluvit, respektovat jeden druhého a dostat se na střední cestu. Žádné těžké pocity s nikým, jsme tu, abychom se bavili hraním hudby!
Alan – A s tím související otázka: jezdíte na nějaké festivaly jako fanoušci? Na jaké a proč?
Dani MVN – Rád chodím na festivaly. Každé léto alespoň na pár z nich zajdu. Obvykle ty, kam chodím, jsou Leyendas del Rock a Rock Imperium. Úžasné vibrace, spousta přátel, kteří se účastní… je to prostě skvělé. Letos budeme hrát na Leyendas del Rock a bude úžasné stát na pódiu na místě, kam jsem jako fanoušek chodil mnoho a mnoho let.
Alan – Závěrem bych se zeptal na vaše hudební vzory a co momentálně posloucháte?
Dani MVN – Black Sabbath je a pravděpodobně vždy bude moje oblíbená kapela. Rock 70. let je pro mě jako hudebníka nebo jen posluchače opravdu důležitá věc. Pak samozřejmě máme všechen thrash z 80./90. let, ale nechci jmenovat nudné věci, které všichni zmiňují. Vždycky jsem miloval Heresy it Paradox, Face of Despair z Mortal Sin nebo By Inheritance od Artillery, tři legendární thrashová mistrovská díla.
Mimo thrash bude Thundersteel od Riot vždy jedním z mých hlavních vlivů. Nevím, je toho tolik, o čem bych mohl mluvit, jako jsou úžasní kytaristé příkladně Stevie Ray Vaughan, Al Di Meola… ten seznam by mohl pokračovat dál a dál.
Posledních pár měsíců znovu navštěvuji klasiky jako Mirage (Camel), 2112 (Rush) a prohlížím si některá dobrá novější alba jako Into the Maw of Death (Grand Cadaver) nebo Neatherheaven (Revocation).

The 4th edition of the South of Heaven Zbytiny festival, which will take place in 2025, will again bring various specialties for visitors and a change of bands. South of Heaven is a very friendly festival in an absolutely great place, where the organizers bring YOU a different portion of groups every year. We are not focused on constantly repeating the same bands from the Czech Republic and the world. You can read what the groups told us about it in the added interviews.
Alan – Hello. How did you find out about our festival?
Dani MVN – Hello there! Well, it’s a festival we already knew about because of social media. It’s an honour and a pleasure to be part of it for this edition.
Alan – The South of Heaven festival is in a quarry with absolutely fantastic acoustics. Are you looking forward to it?
Dani MVN – It’s going to be an absolute blast. Counting the days until the moment comes!
Alan – Speaking of the quarry, did you play in any interesting places? And what were your impressions of it:
Dani MVN – The last couple of years were amazing for the band, playing in middle to really big format festivals, sharing line-up with legendary bands (Rock Imperium, Z! Live, Vagos Open Air…).
And about South of Heaven, well, it takes place in a quite impressive place. It’s going to be our first time in Czech Republic, so we are really excited about it!
Alan – What interesting things will you bring to the festival, besides good mood and your music? New album, pyrotechnics …..?
Dani MVN – We are right in the middle of our new album tour, Endles Scorn, so get ready for a mindcrushing experience! Live shows for us are the main key, the most important aspect of the band. Just warm up and be ready to mosh like hell.
Alan – Are you going to the South of Heaven festival just for a spin, or is it part of a summer tour?
Dani MVN – We’re really busy this summer, but South of Heaven for us is a trip outside of our route. It will be like a breath of fresh air and a fantastic experience.
Alan – Have you been following our festival for a long time? If so, how long, and what interested you the most about it?
Dani MVN – Yep, we knew about the festival already for some time. We love mid format festivals in Europe, and South of Heaven takes place in a beautiful place on top of that. So, how can you not be interested in something like that!
Alan – Let’s go to your homeland. How do you play there? What is your background in terms of fans?
Dani MVN – As I said before, we’re touring now, and things are going quite good. Many festivals, many cities, thousands of kilometres… brutal. Crowd and press received our new album in an overwhelming positive way, so we can’t be happier.
Alan – A general question, how do you perceive festivals, what are the possibilities and conditions under which you can get to them and play with a band? Do you have any spicy experience with the conditions or approach of the festival organizer?
Dani MVN – It really varies. In my experience, sometimes the best thing to do is building up your career, play a lot, go on the road and make a name for yourself. Then, if you work hard enough and get to the point where people likes and follows you, those same festivals will get in touch with you.
And yeah, many, well… interesting experiences, hahaha. But it’s all about talking things, respecting each other and getting to a middle ground. No hard feelings with anyone, we’re here to have fun play music!
Alan – And a related question: do you go to any festivals as fans? Which ones and why?
Dani MVN – I love to go to festivals. Every summer I go to at least a couple of them. Usually, the ones I go to are Leyendas del Rock and Rock Imperium. Amazing vibes, lots of friends attending… it’s just great. We’ll play at Leyendas del Rock this year, and it’s going to be amazing to be up the stage in a place I’ve been going to for many, many years as a fan.
Alan – Finally, I would like to ask about your musical influences and what are you currently listening to?
Dani MVN – Black Sabbath is, and probably will always be, my favourite band. The 70’s rock for me as a musician or just a listener it’s a really important thing. Then of course we have all the thrash from the 80/90s, but I don’t want to name the boring stuff everyone mentions. I’ve always loved Heresy by Paradox, Face of Despair from Mortal Sin or By Inheritance by Artillery, three legendary thrash masterpieces.
Outside of thrash, Thundersteel by Riot will always be one of my main influences. I don’t know, there’s so much stuff I could talk about, like amazing guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Al Di Meola… ther list goes on and on.
Last couple of months I’m revisiting classics like Mirage (Camel), 2112 (Rush) and checking some good more recent albums like Into the Maw of Death (Grand Cadaver) or Neatherheaven (Revocation).
